Alvin Franklin. Franklin, who amazed crowds at La Marque before becoming a member of the University of Houston’s iconic “Phi Slama Jama” men’s basketball teams in the early 1980s, died on Saturday at 62.

Indians junior running back Blake Mancuso rushed for 183 yards and three touchdowns on 26 carries while a junior-laden defense held Rosenberg Terry to just 68 total offensive yards in a 33-13 win at Joe Raitano Field.
