OHIO COUNTY, W.Va. (WTRF) — During his career, he’s covered criminals with everything from bad manners to serial murderers, but Joe Roxby has loved every minute of it. Today was Joe’s last day at Ohio County Magistrate Court and his fellow workers celebrated him with a surprise party. Joe was a Magistrate for 16 years, and before that, spent 25 years serving as a Wheeling Police officer.

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ohio (WTRF) — A man was shot and killed after abducting his daughter on Monday. Members of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office were on scene to provide much-needed comfort and support to 7-year-old Oaklynn Alexander. The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department received a call about 3 p.m. alleging Charles Alexander had abducted his 7-year-old child in Empire, Jefferson County, Ohio. Sheriff Fred Abdalla says Alexander fled the scene after grabbing the girl.

WHEELING, W.Va. (WTRF) – The Ohio Valley turned out in a big way to support veterans right here in our community. The “No One Walks Alone” Fundraiser raised about $4,500. There were 170 people who walked this year and we want to thank each and everyone of you who walked, donated or took part in our resource fair. “No One Walks Alone” is designed to make sure each veteran in the Ohio Valley knows they are not alone. Their fellow veterans are there for them and so are the people in this community.
