A lifesized Labubu figure sold for 1.08 million yuan (£111,000) at auction on Tuesday, setting a new record for the "blind box" toy as it moves from craze to collectable. The event held by Beijing auction house, Yongle International Auction, which traditionally specialises in modern art as well as jewellery, marked the first-ever auction dedicated to Labubu. The actual sale price was over 1.2 million yuan including the 15 percent commission, or nearly £125,000 ($170,000).
