CHCA's sophomore Nate Gockerman won the DII 3,200-meter run with a personal best of 9:15.04. Mercy McAuley's Abby Sewell finished second in both the 1,600-meter and 3,200-meter races. Taft freshman Lorenzo McMullen placed second in the DII high jump, clearing 6 feet, 6 inches. Deer Park's Camille Lewis took third in the DII shot put, throwing 43 feet, 0.75 inches. Purcell Marian's Matthew Wright earned second in the DIII 400-meter dash and seventh in the 200-meter dash.

Cooper High School has hired Christian Stefanopoulos Prohaska as its next girls basketball coach, the school announced on Monday. "I am honored to be named the girls basketball coach at Cooper High School. It's a special opportunity to lead a program with a proud tradition of success in the community I call home. I'm excited to build on that legacy, compete for championships and invest in the growth of our players both on and off the court," Prohaska said in a statement.

Two Ohio teams (Lebanon and Western Brown) are headed to Akron for the state tournament, while Holy Cross will play at the University of Kentucky's John Cropp Stadium for the first time. When Courtney Turner took over the Holy Cross softball program in 2022, she knew. The Indians ended that year with a 13-9 record, but gave up 10 runs or more in 14 contests. Suzette Klaiss, then a freshman, was still learning how to slide into a base. "I'm not gonna lie; they were horrible. But that's part of building a program, building a team and the work that these girls put in. I hope that's what people notice," Turner said.
