Crews battled wildfires in North and South Carolina on Sunday amid dry conditions and gusty winds, leading to evacuations in some areas. The National Weather Service warned of increased fire danger due to dry fuels and low humidity. In South Carolina, over 175 fires burned 6.6 square miles, prompting a state of emergency declaration. In North Carolina, fire crews worked to contain multiple wildfires, with the largest at Uwharrie National Forest.
