    A handful of the world’s top senior elite figure skaters will kick off the winter sports season this weekend. The 2024-25 ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating will begin its six-leg circuit with 2024 Skate America at the Credit Union of Texas Event Center in Allen, Texas. From October 18-20, medals will be awarded in men’s singles, women’s singles, pairs and ice dance, and skaters will be awarded points toward qualifying for the ultimate event, the 2024-25 ISU Grand Prix final.

    It has been a busy year for Team USA’s summer extreme sports Olympians as several of them competed in their third major event in a single calendar year. Following up appearances at X Games Ventura 2024 and the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, several American athletes traveled to Chiba, Japan to compete at X Games Chiba 2024. First held in 1995, the summer X Games is the biggest non-Olympic event for professional skateboarders and BMX cyclists.
