Peach Payment has launched the Digit Pro point-of-sale device in South Africa, with availability in Mauritius coming soon. The Digit Pro can receive payments from a variety of local and international payment methods, such as Apple Pay and Capitec Pay, among many others. The Digit Pro can be loaded with bespoke apps and lean on a library of plug-and-play apps. Local payment gateway Peach Payments has today launched a new point-of-sale device that is capable of facilitating multiple payment methods.

Not even a year after launch, Luno Pay reports that transactions on the platform have surpassed R20 million. Customers can make payments using their cryptocurrency wallets on Luno in the real world at a variety of retailers. 80 percent of Luno Pay users make a payment using the platform at least once a week. Neal Mohan, chief executive officer of YouTube announced that Google Deepmind’s Veo 3 will be coming to YouTube Shorts later this year. The CEO says that creators will be able to use the platform for things like translation. However, users are concerned that the short-video platform will be buried under a wave of AI slop.
