    The Chillicothe Hornets boys team competed in Class 1 District 15 tournament in Trenton. The Hornets won their semifinal matchup against Carrollton 5-0. All three Hornets doubles teams earned the victory, Collins and Adams, Trantham and Snider as well as Carpenter and Swearingen. Chillicothe only needed two singles wins to claim the match.

    Gregory Michael Anderson, age 54, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away from a heart attack on Monday, May 6, 2024, at his home in Chillicothe, Missouri. Greg was born the son of John Michael “Mike” and Carol Sue (Brobst) Anderson on August 24, 1969, in Chillicothe, Missouri. He was a 1987 graduate of Chillicothe High School. He worked as a tire repairer and salesman for his family’s business, Anderson TBA. Greg was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing.

    Gale “Kitty” Snider 77, of Chillicothe MO. passed away on Monday May 6, 2024 at her home in Chillicothe. She was born on September 30th 1946 in Chillicothe, MO. Gale was a proud member of the Freedom of Road Riders and served as treasurer for several years. “Kitty” also enjoyed sewing and working on quilts. She also thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her children and their families.

    The Chillicothe Hornets boys golf team competed in the Class 3 District 4 golf tournament at Mozingo Lake Golf Course in Maryville. Chillicothe was one of 16 teams competing for two spots in the state finals for complete teams, along with the top 10 individual golfers whose team did not advance. The Hornets who have had an historic season, finished in 5th place at districts with a score of 346. Summit Christian Academy and Barstow advanced with a 308 and 312 respectively.

    The Chillicothe Hornets baseball team traveled to Kansas City on Tuesday night to take on St. Pius in the regular season finale. St. Pius scored a run in the first inning and three in the second to go up 4-0. The Warriors controlled the game from there, but Chillicothe scored a run in the fifth inning when Sammy Rodenberg hit a double, leading to a Jack Marshall RBI scoring Oliver Perry.
