    PARKERSBURG – A protest over a reported visit by members of the Department of Government Efficiency to the Bureau of the Fiscal Service offices in Parkersburg is underway despite snow and cold temperatures. Well over 100 people gathered in Bicentennial Park not far from the Fiscal Service office off Market Street beside the Wood County Courthouse. From there they walked to the office.

After around a foot of snow blanketed the area earlier this week, the National Weather Service in Charleston is reporting another 1-3 inches of snowfall from Friday afternoon into Saturday for the Parkersburg area. A storm system was moving into the area Friday afternoon and going into Saturday morning, Meteorologist Tom Mazza. “It should be over by the afternoon,” he said.

    CHARLESTON – The state is prepared for any inclement weather coming from storms generated by the remnants of Hurricane Helene, Gov. Jim Justice said Friday during his weekly press briefing. “We have a lot of weather going on,” Justice said. On Thursday, the governor issued a State of Preparedness for 22 counties. The State of Preparedness allows the West Virginia Emergency Management Division to posture personnel and resources for quick response to any emergency that may develop.
