Photo by WWE/Getty Images Earlier this spring, the NHL held a Stadium Series game at Ohio Stadium between the Detroit Red Wings and the Columbus Blue Jackets. The event turned out to be a smashing success. The temperatures were perfect for outdoor hockey, the Ohio State Marching Band performed Script Ohio on the ice, and nearly 95,000 people were in attendance, making it the second-most attended game in NHL history.

Photo by Ian Johnson/Icon Sportswire via Getty Images Ohio State held its annual spring game this past Saturday, with just over 40,000 in attendance at Ohio Stadium to not only celebrate last year’s national championship team, but also to get a glimpse into what to expect from this year’s team.

Photo by Norm Hall/Getty Images Now that the 2025 Ohio State spring game has come and gone, we can start taking a harder look at the 2025 regular season for the Buckeyes. Since Ohio State are the defending national champs, they’ll have an even bigger target on them this year. Everyone the Buckeyes play this year will want to be able to say that they were able to knock off last year’s champs, and possibly keep them from repeating this year.

Samantha Madar/Columbus Dispatch / USA TODAY NETWORK via Imagn Images Ohio State’s women’s softball team has put together a strong season in head coach Kirin Kumar’s first year as head coach of the Buckeyes. Entering today’s game at Dayton, Ohio State has posted a 33-10-1 record, which has them ranked 24th in the country this week. The Buckeyes are coming off a weekend series at Penn State where they took two of three games against the Nittany Lions.

Brett Davis-Imagn Images Last Sunday afternoon, Alexander Ovechkin scored a goal against the New York Islanders, but this wasn’t just any old goal, though. Ovechkin potted his 895th career goal, passing Wayne Gretzky for most goals scored in NHL history. Even more incredible is that Gretzky scored his 894 goals in 1,487 games, while Ovechkin’s 895th goal came in his 1,487th career game.
