Hi 61. After a stellar Wednesday that saw many lawns getting cut, today will bring a return of unsettled weather. Another round of downpours and thunderstorms moved through the region yesterday afternoon and evening, thanks to an upper low that finally pulled away overnight. Yesterday’s official rain total was over 1″ at Harrisburg International Airport, bringing the monthly total (so far) to 2.07″, which is over an inch above normal for May.

With plenty of spin in the atmosphere thanks to the rotation around an upper low, it’s no surprise that we have seen tornado warnings and confirmed tornadoes across Pennsylvania in the last couple of days. While brief, the tornado warning for parts of Mifflin County yesterday afternoon demonstrates the environment we’ve been living under.
