“This show ends up being a journey. You may be seeing this in your hometown, but leave feeling you’ve been somewhere,” Chavez said. She’ll take audiences on that concert trip at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Clark State Performing Arts Center, which is sponsoring the show as part of its Club Kuss series of more intimate concerts. Though she hails from Texas, Chavez’s grandfather is a Buckeye, who was living in the Cleveland area, where he met her grandmother.

One of the locations is the area’s first smart homes to integrate some of the latest technological advances. Organizers look for spaces that stand out and are excited about their 2025 lineup. “We have five really nice homes, some that are upper-level, sleek and modern that people normally wouldn’t be able to get into,” said Theresa Hartley, one of the event organizers. With the character now in the public domain, Willis wrote his own original story, “Winnie the Pooh and the Dark Cloud Too,” that will include the honey-loving bear and all his friends from the Hundred Acre Wood that will premiere at 7 p.m. April 25-26 at the Fairborn Middle School auditorium, 900 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Road, Fairborn. With Pooh as a starting point, Willis added in another of his interests, video games, to come up with the story.

Daily classes will be 9 a.m.-5 p.m. June 16-20 and 23-25 and noon to 5 p.m. June 21. All registered campers will perform in the musical comedy “Night at the Wax Museum,” which will be on the stage of the Gloria Theatre, June 26-28. Lynn Adell Mirtes, STC founder and co-producer, is excited for what could be the camp’s biggest year yet now that word-of-mouth has built.
