There are only two more days of unsettled weather before a cold front arrives on Friday, which will bring an end to our rainy week and month! It seems we're in for a battle of the weather models. The GRAF model predicts showers and storms around 7 AM, while the HRRR model shows only clouds at the same time. Looking ahead to the afternoon at 3 PM, both models indicate just a few spotty showers.

This week, we’re expecting unsettled weather! While it has rained quite a bit recently, today has been fairly dry in Acadiana. However, that will change tomorrow as showers and storms return during the afternoon. After that, we can expect daily high-end rain chances through the end of the week. The HRRR and GRAF weather models show some uncertainty. The HRRR model predict storms moving in during the afternoon, while the GRAF suggest we may remain dry.

With high dew points, expect heat index values near 96°—stay hydrated! Higher rain chances start rolling in late Sunday, kicking off an unsettled weather pattern. Daily downpours are likely, especially in northern Acadiana where there’s a marginal risk for heavy rain on Tuesday.

And nope, Lafayette still hasn't hit that 90° mark yet! As we head into Memorial Day, unsettled weather is on the horizon. A series of shortwave troughs will bring daily rain chances. On Monday, a low-end flash flood risk for northern Acadiana. We’re looking at rainfall totals of 1-3" from Monday through Friday.
