Hollywood's police chief and dozens of officers packed a courthouse Wednesday for a hearing for a man charged in a 2021 killing of an officer. It's been over three years since Hollywood Police Officer Yandy Chirino was shot and killed in the line of duty and his family and police department said they're still waiting for justice in his death.

A major police investigation was underway outside a strip club in northwest Miami-Dade early Tuesday. Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office officials responded to the 12000 block of Northwest 27th Avenue around 2 a.m. after some sort of incident. A man was seen being taken to the hospital and there was a yellow tarp at the scene, but officials haven't given any information. Crime scene investigators were there and authorities had most of the street blocked off.

A police investigation is underway after witnesses reported a struggling swimmer early Saturday in Fort Lauderdale's New River. Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue said they responded at around 2:40 a.m. to 20 West Las Olas Boulevard to "search for someone who witnesses said was struggling to swim in the New River." The scene is just behind The Wharf in downtown Fort Lauderdale.

Astonishing video shows how a deadly fire consumed a Deerfield Beach home in what authorities are calling "suspicious" circumstances on Friday. Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue firefighters responded to the scene at Northwest 43rd Street and Northwest 4th Avenue at around 4:30 a.m. and encountered heavy smoke and flames coming from one side of the duplex, Battalion Chief Michael Kane said. As firefighters battled the flames, they found the victim deceased in a back bedroom, Kane said.

At least two people are lucky to be alive after a fire destroyed their Miramar home early Tuesday. It happened at around 2:55 a.m. at SW 68th Avenue and SW 33rrd Street in Miramar. Fire crews said they found the active fire burning the home and cars outside. It took them about 30 minutes to extinguish the blaze, and no injuries were reported. But a family is now displaced and wondering how this could have happened.
