The Criminal Division of the U.S. Department of Justice (the Department or DOJ) recently released a new pilot program on voluntary self-disclosures for individuals, aimed at encouraging greater cooperation related to certain types of corporate crime. In exchange for prompt self-reporting and full cooperation, individuals with potential criminal liability may be eligible to enter into a non-prosecution agreement (NPA) with the Criminal Division where all conditions are met.

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KSFY/Gray News) – A 4-year-old was killed in a car crash in South Dakota earlier this week, according to the state department of public safety. Investigators said a 14-year-old boy was driving a GMC Yukon and went into a ditch, causing the vehicle to flip over and land on its roof. The teen driver was not wearing a seatbelt and sustained minor injuries. Three other children were also in the GMC at the time of the crash. Two girls, ages 10 and 6, were both injured.

Hastings has achieved silver-level status in the New York State Climate Smart Communities program. This may be all good for the planet. It is certainly good for the village board and conservation commission members, some of whom tout such public green cred on their LinkedIn bios. Whether it is always good for 10706 is another story. The CSC program awards points to munis that check off boxes in the CSC Checklist. Points earn state grant money.
