    Both Bedlam baseball teams have earned spots in the field of 64 teams for the NCAA Tournament. Oklahoma will be in the Chapel Hill regional and will play former Big Eight and Big 12 rival Nebraska in the first round on Friday at 4:00 pm. The host team North Carolina will face Holy Cross in the other first round game at 11 am Friday. It’s OU’s 43rd appearance in the NCAA Tournament and fourth in a row.

    BOKCHITO, Okla. (KFOR) — This school year KFOR is once again recognizing outstanding scholar-athletes. We are teaming up with Homeland to honor Macey Weger of Rock Creek High School. Macey plays softball for the Mustangs. She is a 4-time all-conference pick and a two-time all-stater. She also played basketball and was all-county this season. Macey is the valedictorian of her senior class and has a 4.35 GPA.

    Two players from the Oklahoma City Thunder have been honored for their work on defense this season. Luguentz Dort was named to the NBA’s All-Defensive First Team and Jalen Williams was named to the NBA All-Defensive Second Team. Dort received the third most votes of any player in the league. It’s the first defensive honor for both players in their careers, and the first time a Thunder player has been honored for their defense since Paul George in 2019.

    Shai Gilgeous-Alexander won the NBA’s Most Valuable Player Award it was announced on Wednesday night. SGA becomes the third player from the Oklahoma City Thunder to win the award, joining Kevin Durant in 2014 and Russell Westbrook in 2017. SGA received 71 of the 100 first place votes from the media panel, with the other 29 first place votes going to Nikola Jokic of Denver, who has won the MVP award three times.
