Former Husker Husker offensive lineman Grant Seagren will join the Oklahoma State program. Having entered the portal on April 28, Seagren is a walk-on that Matt Rhule and the staff liked since he arrived out of Oakland-Craig High School. Halfway through spring, the Husker head coach even singled out Seagren when talking about the O-line. "As soon as Grant decides that he's a scholarship player he's going to be something else. He was 230-pound tight end wherever he was. He' s now 315.

Part of the single-digit jersey crew in 2024, Malcolm Hartzog obviously has the respect of his teammates. He also has been on the field about as much as any Husker heading into this fall. His defensive snap count over the last three seasons: 1,626. And only DeShon Singleton and Marques Buford Jr. played more than Hartzog's 591 last year.
