    Research US retail electric prices likely moderate in 2024, continuing 2023 trend The average retail price of electricity per kilowatt-hour paid by ultimate customers in the US in 2023 rose 3.7% on a nominal (unadjusted for inflation) basis to 13.29 cents compared with a nominal increase of 12.1% in 2022 to 12.82 cents and by 5.83% to 11.44 cents in 2021. The ultimate customer classification is an aggregate of the residential, commercial and industrial classes.
