Suddenly there was a cry out in the waiting roomMy wife had to go into work and I had a doctor’s appointment. I drew the assignment of watching our youngest. I’d been going to the same doctor for a good many years and she always gave me a sympathetic ear. I liked her very much, had the feeling she was on my side. I felt it prudent to give her office a call to ask her if it would be Ok to have a 3 year old to my appointment.

Pay less, drink lessThere was a time in the 1970’s where restaurants and bars started severing more. The quantity of food and drink became more and more generous for the money diners and drinkers had to shell out for usually more than their fill. Money does matterNot bragging; I’m confessingMy father passed away 40 some years ago. One of the things that his will directed was I should inherit a small case, about as big as a Cracker Jack’s box. It was shaped like a treasure chest. It had no lock. I was also to receive, “the contents within.”Curious about exactly what it contained as soon as I constructively received the box, I opened it. MoneyThere were 25 silver dollars in the small box.

Everyone was in high spirits when they called out the answerI’m proud of my adopted town of Philadelphia. Although I was born in New Jersey, I eventually immigrated to the “City of Brotherly Love” after college. Oh everyone’s heard of, and probably visited the normal tourist attractions: the Liberty Bell, Constitution Hall, the Ben Franklin and Betsy Ross House (and no, they didn’t live together), the Museum of the American Revolution and many other icons in the country’s history.
