Tyson ran off the field twice, but collected herself after a few seconds. Maybe it was something she ate. Maybe it was the heat. Maybe it was the moment.

Not only that, but the Eagles didn’t get a run during two games against FM Marcus. The Marauders, who finished in fourth place in the 5-6A standings stunned the 6-6A champs in the bi-district round by scores of 14-0 and 4-0. In Game 1, Marcus scored five runs in the fourth inning and six more in the fifth to win by run-rule.

It was a special moment for the program as the Porcupines won their first bi-district title since 2022. But it was also a special win for the players, who were facing one of the toughest weeks they have ever faced.

Coming into the bi-district round, the Ladycats were looking to take care of Colleyville Heritage and move on to area. In Game 1 on Wednesday, senior pitcher Taylor McKean (Tarleton State signee) threw a gem – a five-hitter and struck out 14 as Aledo won 3-0 – extending its shutout streak to 11 straight.

BY BRIAN GOSSETX – @gosset41X – @gmsportsmedia1========================In only two seasons, Venus pitcher Devyn Somers has hit a big milestone as the sophomore led the Bulldogs past Dallas Carter 20-0 in their Class 4A D2 one-game bi-district on Wednesday. Somers struck out eight batters and passed 500 for her career. Venus will play the winner of Van Alstyne and Krum in next week’s area round. The Bulldogs needed only three innings to take down Carter and Somers nearly got the perfect game.
