    Colorado doesn’t have star Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders anymore, but tickets to see the Buffaloes are still going fast. On Wednesday, CU announced its first sellout of the 2025 season, as the Sept. 20 matchup with Wyoming at Folsom Field has officially sold out. The first meeting between the Buffs and Wyoming in 16 years will take place during Family Weekend, which is often one of the most popular games on the schedule. Kickoff time has yet to be announced for that game.

    Haynes King was a young, freshman quarterback making his second career start the first and only time he’s played in Colorado. King and No. 5-ranked Texas A&M came into Empower Field at Mile High on Sept. 11, 2021, to take on the Colorado Buffaloes, led by head coach Karl Dorrell and quarterback Brendon Lewis. King suffered a season-ending injury in the first quarter and A&M escaped with a 10-7 victory. So much has changed for King and the Buffs since that day.

    Colorado head coach Deion Sanders took to social media on Wednesday morning to thank all those who have wished him a speedy recovery from a recent health issue. Posting a message on X, Sanders didn’t specifically address what has kept him away from Boulder in recent weeks, but provided an optimistic update. “Wow, I am truly blessed for the abundance of well wishes, for all the thoughts and all of the prayers. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!” Sanders wrote.

    BOULDER, Colo. (AP) — Deion Sanders has not attended football camps in Boulder, Colorado, this spring. The University of Colorado said it couldn’t comment on a reason for his absence. ESPN, citing a source it did not name, said Sanders has been ill and out of the office recently. Over the weekend, his son Deion Sanders Jr. posted a livestream video on YouTube in which he said his father remains at his Texas home and “feeling well,” according to USA Today.

    Colorado women’s basketball head coach JR Payne has hired a new assistant. On Monday, CU and Payne announced that Jordynn “JoJo” Hernandez has been hired as the team’s new assistant coach. She replaces Bianca Smith, a former CU great who took a job at Michigan State in April after one year back in Boulder. Hernandez has been an assistant coach at Stephen F. Austin the past two seasons.
