Population control, exorcised decades ago from mainstream demography and environmentalism, is being reanimated in an age of climate anxiety. When pressed for solutions instead of grievances, alarmists might disavow the forced sterilizations and one-child policies that were the shameful consequences of similar mid-century population anxieties.
