People who visit the Oireachtas should ‘respect the institutions of the House’, Taoiseach Micheál Martin has said in response to the guest of a TD who likened the food in the Members’ Restaurant to excrement. Richie Herlihy, an online personality who also runs Richie’s Food Truck in Mayfield, Co. Cork, was invited by Independent Ireland TD Ken O’Flynn into Leinster House last month, but his rule-breaking video sparked complaints to two Oireachtas authorities.

Social media companies should "most definitely" be brought before the Oireachtas Media Committee to discuss how they deal with disinformation on foot of claims made online in the wake of the shooting in Carlow over the weekend, a TD has said. RT @BBCNewsPR: BBC STATEMENT "The claim the BBC took down a story after reviewing footage is completely wrong. We did not remove any story…

It's neither here nor there to the story below - but the fact that a potential future Tory leader thinks this is a smart comms strategy should worry people in the party. Petty populism.

Transport for London have said Tory MP Robert Jenrick didn’t have permission to film a video where he was calling out people for alleged fare evasion. https://t.co/XSB63A5OkE

"CCCC tend not to work off footage that surfaces on social media or is the possession of anyone else outside the official broadcaster because it is open to legal challenges." Pure rubbish. Gardai ask for any sort of footage all the time, no?! https://t.co/lP7Ilrhq41
