I’ve been singing since I was 4, and by the time I was 7, I was already writing my own songs. My parents recognized my talent early on and enrolled me in singing lessons with the amazing Amanda Colliver, a vocal coach who has worked with Australian stars like Hugh Jackman and Nicole Kidman.

We catch up with Sandee Facy. How and where did it all begin for you? What drew your interest to the music industry? Since the time I was very young, I was singing in hairbrush and my family was very musical. My brother who is 13 years older than me was also performing on stage in bands. I spent decades fronting bands and playing covers as a working musician. It wasn’t until 2017 that I began songwriting, when my friend passed away tragically from Cystic Fibrosis, aged 20.

We all come from a mutual love of music, since we were all very young. I’m not sure how it happened but we all ended up deciding this was it for us – music was the only path. I think especially for the four of us, a big factor is the sense of community that the industry has.

I began playing piano by ear at the age of five and have been passionate about music ever since. Growing up in a musical family, music was always an integral part of our lives and gatherings, which naturally nurtured my love for it.
