The one player who's having a bad playoff performance this season is Matt Duchene. The fact that he's been absent so far in the playoffs gives off serious Joe Pavelski vibes. Here's why the Stars need the veteran to show up today. If there is one player you would expect to show up during the playoffs, it is Matt Duchene. He's one of those veterans in this league who can take over a game with a couple of goals. He was one of the main scoring threats for the Stars during the regular season.

After Mikko Rantanen scored a hat trick to send the Stars to the Western Conference Semifinals, a new wave of hockey fans has joined the Stars' playoff bandwagon. The Stars are gaining many displaced Dallas Mavericks fans after eliminating the Colorado Avalanche from the playoffs. I'm sure there are a lot of Dallas Sports fans still fuming after losing Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers. I've gotten over it, but I understand those Mavericks fans are still stunned by the move in February.

The one thing that made me mad about game 2 was that the Stars didn't show up. Mikko Rantanen isn't going to score a hat trick every single playoff game to get the Stars the Stanley Cup. Other players must step up on offense to win the Cup this season. The Dallas Stars didn't even show up to game 2 on Friday night. Poor Jake Oettinger was ambushed from the get-go and got no offensive support from his teammates.
