Earlham Commons, an exciting new destination for food and dining on land owned by Earlham College, has been recognized by the Wayne County Area Chamber of Commerce for making a positive impact on the community. The development was selected for the Community Impact Award at the Chamber’s annual Community Improvement Award Luncheon at the Hartley Hills Country Club in Hagerstown. The celebration recognizes projects that reflect the Chamber’s values and commitment to economic growth.

In the summer following her first year at Earlham College, Drenushe Krasniqi-Vanmeter embarked on a transformative research project that would shape her future as a scientist. Under the mentorship of former Earlham professor Bob Rosenberg, she investigated the remarkable regenerative abilities of lampreys, exploring how these creatures can heal their spinal cords after injury. This research experience ignited her passion for research and solidified her commitment to understanding human health.

Earlham College has once again been recognized as one of the nation’s premier institutions of higher education. In U.S. News & World Report’s “Best Colleges” guidebook for 2025, Earlham is ranked as one of the Top 75 national liberal arts colleges. The College also ranks 21st for value, up from 24th the previous year. Best value colleges are noted for ranking highest overall for academic quality relative to the average price paid by students after receiving financial aid.

Feven Naba has become the second graduate from Earlham College in four years to be selected for Stanford University’s prestigious Knight-Hennessy Scholarship. The three-year scholarship was awarded to just 90 students from around the world. The scholarship covers tuition at Stanford, a stipend for living expenses and access to the Denning House, an exclusive space for scholars to participate in leadership seminars, discussions and other social gatherings.

The Private Academic Library Network for Indiana (PALNI) has recognized three members of the Earlham faculty for excellence in collaboration and affordability in education. Library Director Amy Bryant received the Outstanding Achievement Award for Leadership in Deep Collaboration. This award recognizes leadership in building, supporting, and advancing the tenets of deep collaboration.
