    April showers bring May flowers! And, seasonal allergies… Whether it’s sneezing, itchy eyes, or even cold-like symptoms, allergies always seem to hit me like a truck every spring. I am no doctor — however, after enduring this year after year, I’ve collected some natural home remedies over time that I find really ease the brunt of my allergies. One element I love using during spring allergy season is peppermint.

    The time has finally come: warmer weather! This means I get to level up my healthy habits in a new way with sunnier days on my side. Spring is my favorite season. Everything just seems to go right—from chirping birds and later sunsets, to spring celebrations and outdoor events. During this season, many take advantage of this time to enjoy the outdoors before the summer heat waves roll in.

    Like many, it was my New Year’s resolution to start hitting the gym again. But with a full class load, an internship, a part-time job, and extracurricular activities, I had no idea how to fit it into my schedule — and more importantly, what kind of routine I was going to maintain.  It took some trial and error, but I was able to create the perfect workout routine for myself after evaluating a combination of lifestyle factors, workout goals, and health conditions.

    Going to college in a northeastern city like Philadelphia means enduring a true winter. There’s the bitter cold weather, super dark mornings, early nights, and of course, the post-holiday blues. As a senior, I’ve realized over the years how much of a toll the season takes on my mental health and my social life. Being inside all the time to stay warm, combined with the lack of sunlight, negatively impacted my daily moods and motivation, causing significant seasonal depression.

    During this long and grueling semester, I was absolutely desperate to find something to keep my peace and calm my nerves during this time. Luckily for me, a power yoga class caught my eye while at Temple’s student gym, and I decided to give it a try. It’s been two months and I LOVE it. Yoga has been a great stress reliever for me over the years, attending classes as young as 12 years-old to find my inner ‘namaste’.
