David Cone suffered an injury up in the broadcast booth on Wedneday night. Cone, Michael Kay and Paul O’Neill were on the call for the Yankees’ series finale against the Kansas City Royals on the Prime Video broadcast. In the sixth inning, Cone jumped out of his seat in pain. “Oh, man. I got a little hammy! Oh, man, right in the belly of my hamstring," he said, via Awful Announcing. It was a very cold and windy night at Yankee Stadium, perfect conditions for a cramp.

In one week the Giants will decide what to do with their No. 3 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. The Giants have been connected to a variety of players in mock drafts over the last several weeks, though lately it’s looking likely that they’ll take Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter or Colorado cornerback/receiver Travis Hunter. Of course, the Giants have also been heavily linked to Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders in their offseason quest to address the quarterback room.

Among the many fans in attendance to watch the Yankees’ 4-3 win over the Royals on Wednesday in the Bronx was a new face in the New York sports scene. New Jets quarterback Justin Fields was in the stands, and he predicted a big moment in the seventh inning. The Yankees were tied, 3-3, with Kansas City as Aaron Judge got up to bat. “We’re gonna see a bomb right here,” Fields said moments before the sluggers’ at bat, via a video he posted on social media.

NEW YORK — One of the biggest Jets fans in New York on Wednesday night was playing first base for the Kansas City Royals at Yankee Stadium. Vinnie Pasquantino, 27, doesn’t even remember how old he was when he devoted himself to Jets fandom. But he knows it was because he shared a first name with former Jets quarterback Vinny Testaverde. A young Pasquantino lit up when he saw the name “Vinny” written across the television screen. “That’s my name! I like this team.” And that was that.

He had just recorded his first big-league save. “It was something that meant a lot to me,” Cruz said after the 4-3 win.
