PDF / ePubAbstractObjective:Research shows highly palatable foods can elicit addictive eating behaviours or ‘food addiction’. Early adolescence is theorised to be a vulnerable period for the onset of addictive eating behaviours, yet minimal research has examined this. This study explored the prevalence and correlates of addictive eating behaviours in a large early adolescent sample. Methods:6640 Australian adolescents (Mage = 12.7 ± 0.5, 49%F) completed an online survey.
