'He's a pioneer both as a player and a coach.' AFL Hall of Famer Robert Walls has died, aged 74. Walls played 259 VFL games for Carlton and Fitzroy including three premierships with the Blues before going on to steer Fitzroy, Brisbane, Richmond and Carlton, who he lead to the 1987 flag. Walls also served as a TV and radio commentator for 25 years. Walls mentored AFL legend Paul Roos (host of the ABC AFL Daily podcast).
