On the nights of October 2 and 3, be cautious on Washington Blvd. where it crosses Altadena Drive. And be prepared for traffic on Altadena Drive to be detoured. By Briony JamesAs part of an ongoing year-long project to repave and reconstruct a 2-mile length of Washington Blvd., Los Angeles County Public Works will be using recycled and re-used materials. The work will make this upgrade both green and cost and wear-effective for motorists.

Pasadena ARTwalk is a free art fair that happens annually in Playhouse Village and displays lots of unique artwork from local artisans in Pasadena. Expect to find an array of handmade goods from several artistic genres such as original art, ceramics, jewelry, and more. This event is in collaboration with Jackalope Arts. The indie artisan fair will be bringing many more local artists to this year’s fair as well as extending the fair to two days.

Archiving Eden: Exchange, curated by Shirley Watts, is an outdoor, interactive art installation evoking the power of collaboration in caring for the environment. By News DeskArtist Dornith Doherty will present a transparent structure adorned with 5,000 vibrant X-ray images of native California seeds. Over time and with viewer participation, the installation will change physically and visually, creating a living seed bank by replacing the colorful X-ray tiles with envelopes of single seeds.

South Pas Active Streets is inviting people to minimize car use Sept. 30 through Oct. 6 as part of a national program known as a “Week Without Driving”. The Week Without Driving was launched in 2021 under a partnership between America Walks and Disability Rights Washington.
