This year, the Writers Guild of America (WGA) and the Screen Actors Guild — American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) went on strike to demand better wages, treatment, and rights for artists and creators. It marked the first time both unions issued a work stoppage since 1960, and it brought the industry to its knees.
