Michael Penix Jr. is the best of so many of the great UW Huskies quarterbacks that preceded him. When I watch him play, I see Billy Joe Hobert’s self-confidence. When I watch him throw, I see Mark Brunell’s velocity and Warren Moon’s spiral. When I watch him lead, I see guys follow him like they followed Marques Tuiasosopo. When I see all that he’s overcome and persevered, I see a guy that Don James would have admired.

If and when the ink finally dries and the Dawgs and Ducks leave the Pac-12 and head to the Big Ten (Big 18?) it will come with a tremendous amount of mixed emotions for me and I know many others. Report: UW and Oregon tell Pac-12 they’re leaving for Big TenMy head and my heart. My head can rationalize and remember that change has been the only constant in my lifetime with college athletics and conference realignment. The Big 8. The SWC. The Big East….and on and on.
