Members of the “Killer Tomatoes” horror-comedy movie franchise, much of which has been filmed in San Diego, will be in Chula Vista, Mission Beach, and Midway this week as they finish filming the latest sequel. The movie — “Attack of the Killer Tomatoes: Organic Intelligence” — is the fifth installment in the series, and offers a new look at the franchise. You could call it a reboot. A 24-year-old driver was killed and two passengers were injured after their vehicle crashed into the backend of an unoccupied forklift near downtown early Wednesday morning. The crash took place at around 2:05 a.m. Wednesday, when a 2023 Ford F-150 driving southbound ran through road blocks on 1200 Harbor Dr., at the intersection of Park Blvd., the San Diego Police Department said. Police officials said the driver collided with a parked forklift in the Harbor Dr. No. 1 lane.
