Any information source produces stochastic patterns with ‘codes’David Chalmers thinks we probably would not — perhaps in-principle — be able to determine if we’re in a simulation. Everything in it — even ‘the physical’ — would be simulated. No amount of reductionist physics could get to the bottom of the ontology and find the simulator and its structure. It’s a pretty convincing idea, and I am not about to assert it is definitely wrong. It might be.

Or: Where are all the alien AGI-enabled, super-powered, Von Neumann probe swarms? We know that, due to cosmic scales of spacetime, it’s likely there are no other alien civilisations existing now who are accessible to us. There are lots of factors called ‘filters’ explaining why advanced civilisations might not make it and why their existential timelines would not overlap with our own civilisational timeline.

It’s not a bad repository for storing one’s writing, but if you’re writing to earn it’s completely useless due to built-in bias, bigotry, bad algorithms, and terrible behaviour by staff who pander to cancelly sociopaths. Medium provides a fairly tidy and usable repository for one’s writing, but:The algorithms are greedy and biased. The staff pander too much to religious nuts who complain about articles and people. The staff pander to any lying, nutjob sociopath who complains about a writer.
