Folks, it happened again. The Nashville Predators were winning a low-event hockey game to start the third period, up 1-0 on the Toronto Maple Leafs. Jonathan Marchessault scored on a very fluky goal in the first period, as the puck bounced off the back wall and glass and dropped in front of Leafs goaltender Joseph Woll, and Marchessault pushed the puck in for the early lead and his 500th career NHL point – just the third active undrafted player to accomplish this feat.

After knocking off the NHL’s top team in the Winnipeg Jets on Saturday night, the Nashville Predators traveled to take on the league’s second-best team, the New Jersey Devils on Monday evening. Unfortunately, the team followed up it’s most dominant performance of the year with easily one of the worst – just hours after the team’s announcement of the trade of Philip Tomasino to the Pittsburgh Penguins.

The Nashville Predators continue their extended road trip by visiting a familiar foe in the Edmonton Oilers and hope to reverse the recent domination by their foes from up north. The Oilers (8-7-1) are off to another ‘slow’ start, but despite that, the Oilers are already 2-0-0 against Nashville this season, beating the Predators by scores of 4-2 on October 17th and 5-1 on Halloween.

A two point night for Steven Stamkos was not enough in his return to Amalie Arena, as the slow-starting Predators fell to the Tampa Bay Lightning 3-2 in overtime, maintaining a four-game point streak. The game was yet another trademark slow Nashville start, as the Predators were completely unable to string together an offensive possession.
