    The Santa Rosa Junior College’s Latinx Faculty and Staff Association (LFSA) organized La Carpa, a talent show. To honor and celebrate talent, heritage and culture students, faculty and community members showcased their diverse talents on Nov. 22 at Burbank Auditorium.     Bryan Fructuoso-Zurita (He/Him/√Čl) is in his third semester at The Oak Leaf. He enjoys meeting new people and listening to their stories because everyone has one to tell. His passion lies in covering individuals and amplifying their stories, particularly on underrepresented groups on campus and Latinx stories. To pursue his passion further, he is working towards obtaining an associate of science degree in both digital journalism and digital filmmaking.

    ¿Qué es importante en los jóvenes?: Es importante que vivan una vida sin temer. La etapa de la juventud es rara. Soy un estudiante de colegio en el condado de Sonoma, y vivo en un tiempo en donde la sociedad me hace contestar un millón de preguntas sobre las complejidades de la vida, que aún no tengo las respuestas.     Despite being interrupted by a power outage that lasted 36 minutes, students shined at the 11th annual Latinx Graduation on May 18, 2024, in Haehl Pavilion. Members of the Latinx Faculty and Staff Association quickly got ahold of a megaphone which allowed the graduation to continue for the duration of the outage.
