Whether it's by boat or scooter, it's fun to roam through the Trang An Landscape Complex's valleys. The Ninh Binh province is the most popular tourist destination in the southern part of Vietnam’s northern region. Described as the “Ha Long Bay on Land,” Ninh Binh is breathtaking. Some of my best memories from my two-week vacation in Vietnam were made by just renting out a scooter, and driving endlessly as I took in the massive limestone mountains and serene waterways of the Red River Delta.

Among the mountains of Northern Vietnam is the bustling and charming city of HanoiWhether you're a novice or an expert-level jaywalker, Hanoi will take some time to get used to. There’s no way to prepare for the chaos that is Hanoi. With about nine million people and seven million scooters, it’s a different world. You’ll see moms on motorbikes lined up outside schools and daycares, waiting for their kids to hop on behind them.

Whether it be in the jungle or on the water, Cat Ba's limestone formations are a sight to beholdCat Ba is very much a vibe that anyone passing through Vietnam needs to experience, especially when coupled with a stop in Lan Ha Bay. Throughout my two weeks in Northern Vietnam, Cat Ba was my favourite place. If I were to pick a spot to recharge in this lovely country — and feel like a local — it would be here. It’s the biggest island in the Cat Ba Archipelago, which features the iconic Ha Long Bay.

This tour through the mountains of Northern Vietnam will forever remain one of my favourite experiencesI'm relieved to have done the Ha Giang Loop with an EZ Rider, but I can't wait to come back and tackle this iconic route myself. Before coming to Northern Vietnam, you’ll ask yourself “is the Ha Giang Loop worth it?” Personally, I believe this motorcycle journey through the mountains of Vietnam is something everyone should experience at least once in their lives.
