Overlanding seems to have become all about creating the most ultra-luxurious or ultra-accessorized rig possible. If I’ve learned one thing in all the camper and trailer testing I’ve done, it’s simpler is better. Less stuff to break means more time having fun outside. People spend stupid amounts of money building adventure rigs, and pour tons of their own time and energy into creating luxurious mobile dwellings for themselves.

I pedaled as hard as I could, hoping that being on my bike would fix it. It used to always fix it. But this time was different — for the first time in my life, I didn’t want to be there anymore. As cars whizzed by, I couldn’t help but think things would be easier if I rode in front of one.
