Both the Northwest Guilford boys and girls lacrosse teams are No. 3 seeds in the state 4A playoff after both going unbeaten in regular-season Metro 4A play. n. The Northwest boys (18-4, 8-0) carry an 11-game winning streak into the playoffs, including their 16-3 win over Page in the Metro 4A tournament finals on Thursday. In conference play, the Vikings outscored opponents, 151-29, and are averaging 14 goals a game while giving up just six.

The Greensboro native, a two-time first team All-ACC, is the second Virginia Tech player to receive the Player of the Year honor after Angela Tincher was honored in 2006.

"Wesleyan Academy has historically had two strong programs with an energetic fan base; we look forward to welcoming them to the HAECO Invitational," Greensboro Sports Council President Brett Schulman said.
