    LARAMIE, Wyo. (3/7/24) – The Big 12 released its championship brackets Monday. A total of eight Cowboys garnered a seed at their respective weight.  Jore Volk (125) led the way, reeling in the No. 5 seed. He compiled a 19-6 overall record, which included a 7-6 mark against ranked competition. The Big 12 has six NCAA allocations at 125 pounds. Joey Novak (197) pulled the No. 6 seed. He’s 18-10 on the season with a half dozen ranked wins. The Big 12 has six NCAA allocations at 197 pounds.

    The 400 Free Relay Breaks School RecordPHARR, Texas (3/2/24) – For the second consecutive day, a University of Wyoming relay set a new school at the Western Athletic Conference Championships. The 400-yard freestyle relay team of Quinn Cynor, Quinn Teller, Caleb Ozenne and Gavin Smith took third, clocking in at 2:55.56. It was this performance and many others that highlighted Saturday, the final day, of an emotional WAC Championships for the Cowboys.

    Cynor, Smith and the 400-Yard Medley Relay Team All Set New School RecordsPHARR, Texas (3/1/24) – Quinn Cynor claimed his first-career Western Athletic Conference title last year in the 200-yard butterfly. Friday, during Day 3 of the championships inside Pharr-PSJA-URGV Natatorium, Cynor diversified his resume with yet another crown. Cynor spearheaded the University of Wyoming’s effort, topping the field by more than a second in the 200-yard freestyle. He swam a 1:34.34 to claim the championship.

    NCAA Also Releases its Conference AllocationsLARAMIE, Wyo. (2/29/24) – The NCAA announced its conference allocations, third Coaches’ Poll and second RPI on Thursday. The University of Wyoming had four individuals ranked and learned how many automatic bids to the NCAA Tournament the Big 12 Conference will have at each respective weight. Jore Volk (125) boasted the highest rank of any Cowboy. He checked in at No. 5 in the RPI and No. 13 in the Coaches’ Poll.

    LARAMIE, Wyo. (2/28/24) – The Mountain West Conference announced its all-conference team on Wednesday. A half dozen University of Wyoming student-athletes were recognized.  Carly Palmer led the way with three such honors. The Senior Recognition Award winner garnered all-conference for her performance in the 200-yard individual medley, the 100-yard breaststroke and the 100-yard freestyle. Brynlee Busskohl and Tara Joyce earned two All-Mountain West honors each.
