Now that he is retiring from his role as president and CEO of Epworth by the Sea, he's not sure what to expect from his next phase of life. Saturday isn't usually when the halls of Brunswick High are buzzing with activity, but that was the case this weekend as Glynn County Schools hosted its annual STEAMFest and Literacy Fair for students from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade. More than 40 booths lined the school's main hall showcasing the various ways STEAM education (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) can be used throughout a variety of careers.

On an overcast Saturday morning, a dream officially became reality as a ceremony was held to officially open the Golden Isles Veterans Village at the corner of G Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. The ribbon cutting marked years of work from the village's board of directors and volunteers, to local rotaries and even elected officials. The village has 29 tiny homes, along with a laundry room and a community center.
