    AbstractThis essay is an aesthetic and social account of the series of cartoons – rarely screened or seen in public – that were made as part of a clandestine programme of the United States Information Agency (USIA) in Mexico City in the 1950s. From a broadly Marxist perspective, we focus on the cartoons’ Cold War scenario as well as their documentation and symbolisation techniques.
