The CGF supports research projects with high market potential and provides researchers up to $50,000 to demonstrate that their innovations(s) have the ability to make an economic impact in society. The CGF is intended to be the final funding step for near-market technologies.

Fifty-four students at the Showcase for Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities (SURCA) 2025 were the recipients of 44 awards totaling $10,200. The system-wide event on March 24 at WSU Pullman was hosted by the Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR).

Washington State University’s College of Education is expanding its identity. Effective May 1, 2025, the college will officially become the College of Education, Sport, and Human Sciences to better reflect the breadth of its programs. The name change follows a comprehensive survey and multiple focus groups that included faculty, staff, students, alumni, and other stakeholders. College Dean Karen Thomas-Brown said the decision was driven by the need for greater clarity.
