Rory McIIroy is no Tiger Woods. Never was. Never will be. And his Rory-go-round victory in this year’s Masters only proves it. Understand. We are not discussing who is the better golfer. Someone else can provide an analysis of their respective 6-iron trajectories. They’re champions. Members of golf’s most exclusive club. Grand slammers who have won each of the four top tournaments in the game over the course of their careers. You can run the numbers and say that Tiger has the wins. Fair enough.

I am old. And we are well past the point where that line gets a laugh. I tell people I’m 75 and take a slight pause to let them react with shock and amazement. The silence is deafening. A guy at Pickleball said, “You look a little like someone famous.”“Really?”“Keith Richards,” he said. “Do you get that a lot?”So, bona fides established, I’d like to weigh in on the increasingly bitter push to get the old guard out of American politics and give the smart, young voices a chance.

OK. We get it. The next talking head whose insight into Donald Trump is that “he is flooding the zone,” should have his pundit credential revoked. That’s not an insight. You’re pummeling a deceased palomino. Of course he’s flooding the zone. Trump is in our face morning, noon and night. He’s invading Greenland. Or picking a fight with our best country-buddy, Canada. Some days he IS all the news. Meanwhile, the Democrats stand silently to the side with a sly smile. We’ve got a plan, they say.

On June 25, 2009 the Warriors won the lottery. That was the day when then-NBA commissioner David Stern stepped to the mic and said something to the effect of, “With the seventh pick of the 2009 NBA draft, the Golden State Warriors select Wardell Stephen Curry.”The choice was no slam dunk. In fact, some very knowledgeable hoopheads considered Curry a big mistake. He has enjoyed reading his pre-draft scouting report aloud for years. Too skinny, doesn’t handle the ball well (!) rushes shots.

Well this should be interesting. Honestly, I never thought Daniel Lurie would be elected mayor of San Francisco. Understand, that has nothing to do with me not liking him. I know Daniel Lurie. We went out to dinner at the New Orleans Super Bowl. When I was writing an SF Chronicle column we talked on the phone a lot.

Although stories say Kevin Durant @KDTrey5 doesn’t want a trade to Warriors b/c doesn’t want to deal with Draymond Green my guess is @Money23Green would go out of his way to be a good teammate. Dray has some making up to do. @warriorsworld
