(WCSC) - The Charleston County School District is beginning discussions for the upcoming academic calendar year and exceeded growth among student communities while holding its replacement plan for the now-nixed constituent board structure. Two weeks after a state law abolished the long-standing constituent boards, the district planned to announce its update on handling student transfers, discipline and school zoning on Monday. Instead, it will be delayed to May 19.

The Board of Trustees approved a first reading of the Fiscal Year 2026 budget on Monday with a vote of nine to one. The 312-page document presented a full budget as opposed to the district’s prior discussion process.
