With this new step in my academic journey, my research focus has shifted from using comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography-time-of-flight mass spectrometry (GC×GC-TOFMS) for discovery-based analyses to exploring new possibilities with liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry (LC–MS/MS).

Upon receiving my acceptance letter into medical school, one of the first decisions I made was to move back home with my parents. I made the decision in a heartbeat, thinking about the financial benefits, the emotional support, and the multigenerational knowledge that I would obtain during an extremely difficult four years of my life.

I did not have an epiphany or a life-changing revelation, but I did find myself in a full inversion. I had traveled for work to a sports medicine conference where I was speaking and sitting on a panel about a topic with which I was very comfortable and familiar.
