FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. - A Fort St. John woman is applauding the support of the community in the face of her family's heartbreak. Britany Gould and her husband, Tony Lloyd, have been together for 11 years and share two children. Gould told Energeticcity.ca that Lloyd, an oil and gas industry worker, began "experiencing headaches" and "forgetting things" in late March, but at the time the couple didn't think much of the situation. "He started saying that he had really bad neck pain," said Gould.

Fort St. John council has approved tenders for $3.3 million on road and sidewalk repaving and replacements throughout 2025. FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. - City council has approved more than $3 million in construction tenders throughout Fort St. John. During the May 26th regular council meeting, the City of Fort St. John council awarded two tenders for sidewalk replacement and repaving to Knappett Industries.

Environment Canada is reporting temperatures in Fort St. John, Dawson Creek and Chetwynd broke records on May 28th. FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. - Temperatures in Fort St. John, Dawson Creek and Chetwynd climbed so high yesterday they broke records previously set in the 1930s. According to Environment Canada 's weather summary for May 28th, Fort St. John set a record of 30.4 C. Meanwhile, Dawson Creek set a record of 31.9 C. Both of those city's previous weather temperature records were 30 C and set in 1936.

The PRRD have approved a recommendation to suspend and investigate healthcare scholarship funding in 2025. FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. - The regional district is suspending healthcare scholarship money distributed to Northern Health and prospective students. During the May 22nd regional board meeting of the Peace River Regional District (PRRD), the board of directors reviewed two recommendations from the Health Care Scholarship Committee about its programs.
