Lingering wildfire smoke will continue to gradually clear eastward out of the area throughout the morning and afternoon hours, leading to improving air quality conditions here at the surface. Sunshine and pleasant temperatures will welcome today before more rain chances return throughout tomorrow and Friday morning. Today will start off with some poor air quality as smoke lingers in the area before gradually improving throughout the remainder of the day.

Unhealthy air quality will be affecting everyone today, regardless of how healthy one is. The air quality has gotten worse due to the cool, sinking air following the cold front bringing the smoke to the surface with it. The air quality will remain unhealthy for everyone through the day today with an air quality alert remaining in effect through tomorrow morning despite scattered rain chances across the area today.

The smoky conditions will come to an end late Monday night as a cold front moves into and through the area. As smoke clears with the passing cold front, showers and thunderstorms will also sweep across the area with a slim chance for a few strong to severe storms mixed in tonight and cooler temperatures for the week ahead. Shower and thunderstorm chances will remain in the forecast through the week and upcoming weekend.

Wildfire smoke has drifted down from Canada leading to smoky skies and reduced air quality across the state of Minnesota. Air quality will remain reduced through the entire weekend with an air quality alert in effect until Monday evening. Despite clear skies and sunshine in the forecast, skies will have a milky-white colored tint to them due to wildfire smoke in the area. Wildfire smoke will remain thick through the weekend with the smoke reaching the surface by Saturday afternoon.

Amelia is a local 5th grader for two more days (today and tomorrow) before the end of the school year takes place on Friday. She said she is excited for summer break and to become a 6th grader, attending a new school this coming fall. During school, Amelia finds herself enjoying science class the most. She said they don’t just learn about science, but get to participate in various activities and experiments throughout the year.

Ran into a viewer today.. Them: *shakes hand* “hi I’m ____.” Me: *shakes hand* “it’s so nice to meet you, I’m Caitlyn!” Them: *giggles* “yeah, I know! I watch you on the news!” I feel like this is just as bad as telling my waiter/waitress to enjoy their food too 🤦🏻♀️
