WACO, Texas — With summer having officially arrived, we're now in peak mosquito season. Mosquitoes love the warm and humid weather of this time of year. Make sure you're choosing to wear a safe repellent and reapply if outdoors for prolonged periods. Removing standing water from around your home can limit the spread of mosquitoes. 25 WEATHER — Thunderstorms swept through much of the area today, which gave us a chance to cool down from the heat. Any remaining showers in the Brazos Valley will fade away this evening. A couple showers may spring up here and there as the sun comes up, but for the most part, isolated showers and storms will be kept in the Brazos Valley tomorrow afternoon. Highs will reach the 90s once again with a heat index at 100° or more. Tuesday and Wednesday should be rain-free but still hot and muggy.

25 WEATHER — The sea breeze once again created some thunderstorms here and there today, mainly in the Brazos Valley. It also helped to drop the temperature in many spots by a few degrees, which was a bit of welcome relief. The sea breeze will return tomorrow, prompting a few more storms in the Brazos Valley for the afternoon and evening. Meanwhile, Central Texas will have a chance at a few storms of their own tomorrow.

25 WEATHER — Most places have avoided the rain today but some scattered thunderstorms have developed around the Brazos Valley. These should die down as the sun sets. Tomorrow will bring another chance for a few storms in the Brazos Valley as sea breeze action will be arriving once again. Perhaps one or two storms could wander into Central Texas. Sunday will be a repeat of Saturday with highs in the low to mid-90s.

25 WEATHER — A couple storms may clip our northeastern areas as the sun goes down, but that is not the main focus of tonight. Most of our attention will be on thunderstorms heading our way from the Red River Valley, which may arrive in the areas of Meridian, Hillsboro and Corsicana around 10 to 11 PM. This should be an organized line of storms, capable of some damaging winds and perhaps some hail. A brief tornado or two cannot be ruled out either.
